I personally can not stand Garth Brooks. Jim and I paid huge money to attend
one of his concerts. During the concert he made his wife Sandy come out on
stage...she was clearly highly uncomfortable doing so..and he
went into this long tribute to her being the "love of his life" and told us
how she pushed him and supported him..sometimes working three
jobs...admitting he would never have made it without her. Very touching. Until
you learn later that even then he was screwing Trisha Yearwood. I wonder if that
wasn't why Sandy was so uncomfortable standing there listening to him lie. He
disgusts me.
However, I do like some of his songs. This song "The Dance" is one I like.
There are so many times in life that a person has to make choices.
In hindsight, a person sometimes regrets the choice that was made...but
often if you had gone a different direction, you would have missed "the dance".
"The Dance"
Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared 'neath the stars above
For
a moment all the world was right
How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The
way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd
have had to miss the dance
Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn't I a king
But if I'd only known how
the king would fall
Hey who's to say you know I might have changed it all
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The
way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd
have had to miss the dance
Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I'd have had to
miss the dance
